Kingdom Capital Network
2024 Impact Report

In 2024, God not only allowed KCN to stabilize, but experience continued growth in serving his Church and beyond.

God's Faithfulness: Redeeming Business Growth

Letter from the executive director, Wes Fang

KCN Friends and Supporters,

As we reflect on 2024, our hearts are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support. Your generosity, prayers, and encouragement have enabled Kingdom Capital Network (KCN) to live out its mission: Equipping small business owners with Kingdom capital for city renewal. Because of you, lives are being transformed, businesses are thriving, and communities are experiencing the tangible impact of faith-driven entrepreneurship.

This past year, we saw God move in powerful ways. We witnessed remarkable growth—not just in the businesses we serve, but in the lives of their owners. Jaime of Quelly Solutions pivoted and expanded his business with the guidance of a mentor. Jabes Librería Cristiana opened a personal suite in their library, increasing their reach. The owners of Better Foundation Business experienced significant spiritual fruit from their time in our program. These stories, and so many more, are evidence of God’s provision and the resilience of Kingdom-minded entrepreneurs.

Of course, growth comes with challenges. Navigating an evolving economic landscape while scaling a young nonprofit has stretched us in new ways. Yet through it all, God has been faithful. Luke 16:10 reminds us: “Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much.” This promise has anchored us, reinforcing our trust in His provision as we move forward.

Looking ahead, we're energized by an expanded vision: cultivating a life-giving ecosystem of Kingdom-minded businesses. We envision alumni mentoring new entrepreneurs, business profits reinvested into local communities, and spiritual flourishing spreading across the KCN network. With your continued support, we will deepen connections, foster sustainable growth, and steward resources in ways that reflect God’s heart for renewal.

We invite you to remain connected—to pray for the business owners we serve, to partner financially, and to share this mission with others. Your involvement is not just an investment in businesses; it’s an investment in God’s redemptive work in Austin and beyond. Thank you for standing with us. Together, we're building something that lasts.

With Blessings and Gratitude,
Wes

Letter from the founder, Steve Teng

When KCN launched as a collaborative pilot program in the summer of 2021, we wondered what impact it would have on small business owners serving under-resourced communities—faithfully stewarding their businesses as outposts of God's Kingdom. Now, as 2024 comes to a close and we reach the halfway point of our third cohort, we are grateful to look back and see God’s presence in our struggles and His faithfulness in answering our prayers.

For some, embracing the truth that work is an integral part of life with God and His mission has brought freedom. It's meant releasing guilt over the sacrifices required to run a small business while establishing healthier rhythms of Sabbath and service. For others, God’s Spirit has revealed redemptive opportunities, helping them recognize the deep influence and responsibility they have in serving their employees.

Equally remarkable has been God’s grace through the many of you who said “yes” to supporting this inspired yet challenging venture. You generously gave your time, offered counsel, connected us with advocates in the community, shared feedback when we struggled, and faithfully prayed when we faced what seemed like insurmountable roadblocks.

We often quote one of our founding board members when explaining KCN: "A Kingdom, friends & family community for business owners most proximate to marginalized communities." Looking back, we see that by God's grace, this very spirit has shaped and sustained KCN. Thank you for being our "friends and family."

Onward by God's grace,
Steve

And There's Even More To Celebrate From 2024

We know that growth without Christ at the center is meaningless. As our numbers have grown, our community has been strengthened through the diversity in perspective from the gathering together of saints from different backgrounds. We have been blessed to support business owners from 14 additional churches from across the city in our 3rd cohort.

"In him you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit." - Ephesians 2:22

SpiritualFlourishing

92% of KCN businesses said they've gained a deeper understanding and connection of God at work in their business through the program. Here's one of their stories.

Better Foundation Fitness

"Partnering with KCN has not only provided essential insight into running a personal training business via our business mentor, but has also provided spiritual support via cohort speakers sharing about how God created work and just how good that is.

In this environment of iron sharpening iron, it can feel abrasive because you are becoming something else, someone else. That journey can feel overwhelming and intimidating with or without support! However, coming out capable of forging new paths forward and handling the ups and downs of running a business in a broken world in a spiritually healthy way is worth it. I truly believe God has shown us his goodness through all aspects of what KCN offers."

"27 out of 31 KCN businesses would highly recommend the program to a fellow business owner. Our prayer is that, as more business owners refer their fellow entrepreneurs to the program, the light of the Gospel will radiate across Austin through the redemptive work of these small businesses."

OrganizationalFlourishing

Through mentorship, equipping, and collaboration with other cohort members, many businesses saw marked organizational expansion.

For married couple, Chelcee and Michael, ambition is never in short supply. When they joined Kingdom Capital Network's second cohort, they represented two businesses: a food truck and a hair salon. However, with busy schedules and family obligations, they weren’t able to establish their businesses and schedule enough to qualify for a much-needed loan through KCN for their food truck business. They were also wrestling with critical decisions concerning their license renewals, food truck maintenance, and determining the right strategy for sustainable growth.

Things were tough for a season, but Chelcee and Michael stayed the course with support from the KCN community and their church.

Even after being denied a loan initially, they met consistently with their mentor, the KCN team, and other cohort members. Through those critical touch points, they created a new business strategy for their food truck, established a new catering model, and felt a renewed sense of passion for serving the community through their business.

Soon, their business saw the renewed health and growth needed to successfully receive a loan through KCN, and apply it to renew appropriate licensing and certifications for their truck. They’ve since hired three new employees, secured a new location for their food truck, and started catering events in central Texas - including multiple KCN events!

“With the mentorship of KCN, I now have a permanent business location in the Painted Tree Boutique Tyler location! It opened December 7, 2024 and the first week has been successful.”

FinancialFlourishing

The KCN loan repayment rate increased from 72% in 2023 to 84% in 2024 as our businesses have continued to see financial fruit from their work.

Pink Daisy Beauty Bar

When Chamagne started getting facials in her 30s, they were simply her opportunity to care for herself amidst the busyness of being a single mother. Regular facials became a way to replenish and recharge, and invest in herself in a way many women don’t get the chance to. So when Chamagne came to Kingdom Capital Network, she had a similar mindset: To invest in her business, Pink Daisy Beauty Bar, so she could continue creating a space for women to recharge their batteries through skincare and wellness.

Since joining KCN in 2024, Chamagne realized it’s not her job to have entrepreneurship all figured out, but to stay focused, obedient, and open to what God has put before her. For the last 6 months, she’s been locked in—gaining insight and support from her business mentor, the KCN team, and through a KCN loan, Chamagne paid off business debt and is able to support her brick-and-mortar location in Round Rock. She’s also able to more sustainably maintain payroll for her employees.

Chamagne has also formed a deeper sense of clarity and confidence in discerning the Lord's will for both her and her business. With the help of her cohort and mentor, she’s excited for continued sustainable growth stemming from what she’s learned through KCN so far. Her 2025 business model is now packed with new strategies for diversifying revenue streams, adjusting internal staffing structure, and solidifying existing systems with God at the forefront of it all!

Jabes Libreria Cristiana, Cohort 3

Jabes Libreria, the only Spanish Christian bookstore in Austin, was able to open a personal suite, rebuild clientele, and increase annual revenue by $10,000 from 2023 to 2024.

Moses Construction

For Karla and Moises, their first Kingdom Capital Network meeting was also the first time they heard about how much God truly cares about their work.

That truth has shaped the way they operate Moses Construction ever since.

For this powerhouse couple, clinging to the truth of the gospel has helped them make business decisions and weather seasonal slumps in their business. And the KCN team and other cohort members have been by their side, supporting them through ongoing prayer, encouragement, and ideas for new business opportunities.

They’ve also benefited operationally and financially from their time with KCN. With their loan, they purchased a dump truck that alleviated hours of work from their team and made their operations even more efficient. They’ve also experienced an increase in their annual revenue and created new ways to care for their employees.

Karla and Moses were so deeply impacted by their time at KCN that Karla has now joined the KCN team to offer interpretation and care for Spanish-only speakers in current and future cohorts.

And We're Excited To See Where God Takes Us In 2025

In 2024, we've expanded our team and network of churches, making us more equipped to serve cohort 3 and future businesses.
